Essity appoints Niklas Westin Sundberg as Chief Digital & Information Officer

Hygiene and health company Essity is reshaping its digital leadership: Niklas Westin Sundberg has been appointed Chief Digital & Information Officer (CDIO), succeeding Carl-Magnus Månsson. Månsson is leaving the company to take on a new role outside Essity.

Westin Sundberg will join the Executive Management Team. His remit includes Essity’s ongoing digital transformation and the Digital Transformation and Business Enablement function.

Background in digital strategy and security

According to Essity, Westin Sundberg brings more than 20 years of experience in digital development across international, complex organizations. His work has included business-led IT strategy, cybersecurity and AI initiatives, including at global companies such as Kuehne+Nagel and ASSA ABLOY.

Start date and reporting line

The new CDIO will take up the position on April 15, 2026 and will report directly to Essity President and CEO Ulrika Kolsrud.
