Almirall presents new dermatology data at EADV 2026

Almirall is using the 35th European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology Congress in Vienna to present a broad scientific programme in medical dermatology. The company announced more than 20 abstracts covering atopic dermatitis, psoriasis and actinic keratosis, along with a late-breaking presentation, two expert-led symposia and an interactive industry hub session on atopic dermatitis.

The congress runs from 30 September to 3 October 2026. Almirall is a Gold Sponsor of this year’s meeting and is focusing its presence on new clinical findings and real-world evidence across its dermatology portfolio.

Atopic dermatitis data include high-impact areas

A key focus is lebrikizumab, a selective interleukin-13 inhibitor for atopic dermatitis. The planned presentations include analyses by body region and by high-impact sites such as the face, neck and hands. Evidence comes from sources including the Phase 3b ADhope trial, the European observational ADtrust study and the German real-world ADlife study.

According to the company, the new clinical data show consistent efficacy and effectiveness across affected body areas, including the face and neck. A late-breaking abstract from the ADlong extension study also reports sustained improvements in skin signs and itch with treatment exposure of up to five years.

Almirall is pairing the data presentations with two educational formats. One interactive hub session will discuss clinical cases in moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis with face and neck involvement. A separate symposium will address visible disease burden, sustained response and practical approaches for day-to-day care.

Psoriasis programme looks beyond skin clearance

For tildrakizumab in moderate-to-severe psoriasis, Almirall is presenting additional evidence on long-term disease control and patient-relevant outcomes. Final two-year analyses from the POSITIVE study show reported benefits in overall well-being, quality of life, work productivity and treatment satisfaction.

Further data cover patients with high disease burden, involvement of high-impact areas and prior biologic treatment. These include findings from PROCARE-T and PATH-T. Analyses from reSURFACE 1 are expected to support discussion of whether earlier intervention may be linked to improved outcomes and longer-term control.

A psoriasis symposium will examine how treatment success can be assessed beyond clearance scores. Topics include psychological well-being and treatment considerations for groups that may be more challenging to manage, including older patients and people with obesity.

Topical therapies and awareness activity

Almirall is also presenting evidence for topical treatments. The programme includes data on adherence and effectiveness of a calcipotriol and betamethasone dipropionate cream in psoriasis, as well as one-year safety and efficacy findings for tirbanibulin in actinic keratosis on the face or scalp.

At its congress booth, the company plans to highlight its research and development pipeline through interactive displays. Almirall is also launching the Face It campaign to raise awareness of the burden of atopic dermatitis affecting the face and neck. A virtual reality medical training format for dermatologists is also part of the congress presence.

The programme positions Almirall’s EADV activities as both a scientific update and a broader communication platform around treatment needs in dermatology.
