medac appoints Christian Matschke as COO
The medac Group has appointed Dr. Christian Matschke as Chief Operating Officer. The company announced the management board appointment in Wedel on 9 June 2026.
In the new role, Matschke will oversee production, quality, supply chain, occupational safety and cross-site operational processes. The appointment places key operations functions under dedicated leadership at board level.
Focus on resilient operations
According to medac, the COO remit includes the further development of production and supply structures, quality systems and collaboration across sites and functions. The company also points to new technologies and the continued digitalisation of operational workflows as areas of focus.
CEO Frank Lucaßen highlighted the importance of robust processes and quality standards for supplying patients worldwide. He said Matschke brings international experience in complex production, quality and supply organisations.
Background in regulated pharma operations
Matschke has held international leadership roles in the pharmaceutical industry for many years, according to the company. His responsibilities have covered production, quality and supply chain organisations in highly regulated environments.
His areas of experience include global manufacturing networks, supply stability, cross-site process harmonisation and transformation programmes. With the appointment, medac aims to further strengthen its operations organisation and support reliable access to essential therapies worldwide.
