Sanofi picks Snowflake to scale AI across drug development
Sanofi is expanding its data and AI strategy for drug development and has chosen Snowflake as a core platform. The company says it is moving toward a unified, AI-ready data foundation intended to support faster decision-making across R&D, manufacturing, and commercial functions.
A single data foundation for AI agents
Sanofi’s approach centers on running AI directly on governed enterprise data, rather than moving data between multiple applications. According to the announcement, the company plans to deploy AI agents and automated workflows across several areas, including R&D, procurement, IT, HR, and field sales.
Field-facing use case: “Concierge for Field”
As an early, visible use case, Sanofi introduced “Concierge for Field”, an AI agent built with Snowflake Cortex AI. The tool is designed to help sales representatives prepare for physician or provider visits by generating pre-call plans quickly, including prioritization based on factors such as specialty and prescribing history, along with context from prior interactions and an option to send the plan by email.
Snowflake Cortex AI, CoWork, and Elementum
Sanofi plans to use Snowflake Cortex AI capabilities, including Snowflake CoWork, and to work with AI workflow partner Elementum. In the same announcement, Sanofi also pointed to the use of Snowflake for processing real-world clinical data at scale to speed up analyses that inform development decisions.
Implementation support
Snowflake says its Forward Deployed Engineers are working with Sanofi’s data and engineering teams to help scale the AI capabilities, while Elementum’s AI applications are intended to run directly on the Snowflake platform.
The news was announced at Snowflake Summit 26.
