Leadership Transition at Blue Ocean Entertainment: Sigrun Kaiser Passes the Torch to Katrin Krauss and Max Müller

At the beginning of 2026, Sigrun Kaiser, co-founder and long-standing CEO of Blue Ocean Entertainment AG, will step down from day-to-day operations and take on a new role on the company’s supervisory board.

Her successors will be Katrin Krauss and Max Müller, two seasoned executives from within the company. Krauss, formerly Director International, and Müller, previously Director of Licensing and Marketing, bring over 25 years of combined experience at Blue Ocean.

“I chose this moment to step back deliberately,” says Kaiser. “The 20th anniversary of Blue Ocean is the perfect time to move on.” She sees Krauss and Müller as a duo that “stand for competence, continuity, and innovation.”

Philipp Welte, member of the board at Hubert Burda Media, also praised Kaiser’s legacy: “Under her leadership, Blue Ocean evolved from a bold idea into a highly respected and internationally successful children’s media company loved by millions of families.”

Blue Ocean Entertainment AG, based in Stuttgart, is the European market leader in children’s magazines and operates locations in several European countries. Since 2014, the company has been majority-owned by the Burda Group and currently employs around 350 staff.
