Veranova Strengthens Leadership Team: Joe Torres-Ocasio Named Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer?

Veranova, a global leader in the development and manufacturing of complex and specialty active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), today announced the appointment of Joe Torres-Ocasio as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO).

In this new role, Torres-Ocasio will oversee Veranova’s global manufacturing network across Europe and North America. He will also be responsible for Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), as well as Supply Chain and Operational Excellence functions.

Torres-Ocasio brings extensive experience from senior leadership roles in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Global Operations for Catalent Biologics, where he played a pivotal role in transforming the performance of several key operations. His career also includes leadership positions at Baxter Healthcare International, Immucor, and Therapeutic Proteins International. He began his career at Amgen, where he successfully led a high-impact Lean transformation.

This appointment comes at a strategically important time for Veranova, following a $50 million investment in its Devens, MA facility to strengthen U.S.-based infrastructure for the production of highly potent compounds, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), and novel bioconjugates.
