“Taste of Bionics”: Ottobock and Ranga Yogeshwar launch international podcast exploring the future of humans and technology

Ottobock launches a new podcast series, “Taste of Bionics,” shining a spotlight on the fascinating connection between humans and technology. Hosted by renowned science journalist and physicist Ranga Yogeshwar, the series begins on 22 October 2025 and brings together global experts to discuss the future of bionics.

Taste of Bionics offers a curious first look at the world of bionics – at a future where humans and technology will work even more closely together,” says Yogeshwar. Across eight biweekly episodes, available on all major podcast platforms and YouTube, listeners will explore prosthetics, exoskeletons, neural interfaces, artificial intelligence, and groundbreaking medical technologies that improve lives.

Ottobock CEO Oliver Jakobi adds: “With Taste of Bionics, we’ve created a format that highlights extraordinary people and ideas. It’s not your typical corporate podcast – our goal is to make niche knowledge accessible while shaping the global dialogue on human-technology interaction.”

The series opens with John McFall, British trauma and orthopedic specialist, Paralympic sprinter, and the first ESA astronaut reserve member with a physical disability. In conversation with Yogeshwar, McFall reflects on how endurance, courage, and advanced prosthetics have helped him overcome challenges and break new ground – culminating in his preparation for a potential mission to the International Space Station (ISS).

Other guests this season include:

  • Minerva Pillai, Co-Founder and Head of Development at SUITX by Ottobock, discussing how exoskeletons can improve employee health and everyday life.
  • Hugh Herr, MIT Professor and visionary in bionics, exploring how biology and technology can merge to redefine mobility.
  • Jennifer Ernst, specialist in innovative amputation medicine at Hannover Medical School, explaining surgical breakthroughs such as Targeted Muscle Reinnervation (TMR) and Osseointegration, and how they transform prosthetic control and quality of life.

“Taste of Bionics” is more than a podcast – it’s an invitation to listen to the future. Each episode inspires curiosity, understanding, and hope for what’s ahead.
