Ellen Goel takes over as Managing Director – with a clear vision for startups and life sciences
The Life Science Factory is starting a new chapter with fresh energy: Ellen Goel takes over as Managing Director. With her entrepreneurial spirit and expertise, she aims to strengthen the startup and life sciences scene in Göttingen and beyond.
In a short interview, Ellen shared her perspective on the key topics:
What excites you most about the startup world?
“What inspires me most are the founders – their passion, courage, and drive to solve problems. Having been a founder myself, I know how vital the right support is. Helping them succeed motivates me every day.”
Why is your focus on life sciences?
“Unlike the ‘fail fast’ mindset, life sciences demand precision and trust. Germany’s culture of precision engineering and its regulated environment make it the ideal place to develop solutions that can cure cancer, prevent pandemics, and transform global healthcare.”
What makes a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem in your opinion?
“A thriving ecosystem is built on three pillars: bold founders, supportive partners – from corporates and universities to government – and the right funding to turn ideas into impact. With the Life Science Factory and the Life Science Valley, Göttingen brings these ingredients together. I am truly excited to strengthen this ecosystem alongside a fantastic team.”
With this clear vision, Ellen Goel aims to sustainably boost innovation in Göttingen and establish the region as a leading hub for life sciences.
