Leadership change at BurdaVerlag: Margit Pratschko becomes sole Editor-in-Chief of My life

On September 1, 2025, Margit Pratschko (58) will become the sole Editor-in-Chief of the pharmacy customer magazine My life at BurdaVerlag. At the same time, she will continue in her senior role at the Competence Center Health. She succeeds Silvia von Maydell (66), who has been instrumental in shaping the magazine since its launch in spring 2019 and is now retiring.

“We are delighted that My life remains in the very best hands with Margit Pratschko, whose professional expertise and long-standing experience will ensure the continued success of the My life brand family,” said Dorothe Kiefer, Brand Director Health.

Under the leadership of Silvia von Maydell, an innovative magazine concept was created more than six years ago, meeting the highest medical standards while also setting benchmarks in other editorial areas such as food, travel, and puzzles. With a monthly circulation of 2.1 million copies, My life has become the most successful pharmacy customer magazine in Germany.

Elisabeth Varn, Co-CEO of BurdaVerlag, praised von Maydell’s work: “We thank Silvia von Maydell for her great commitment and for establishing My life so successfully in the pharmacy market. We wish her all the best for her personal ‘my life’ beyond BurdaVerlag and, of course, continued good health.”

The My life brand family includes, among others, My life – Living well with Diabetes, the Senior Magazine, the children’s magazine Platsch!, and the Puzzle Magazine. It is part of the Zukunftspakt Apotheke (Future Pact Pharmacy), a joint venture between BurdaVerlag and NOWEDA, aiming to strengthen local pharmacies against online competition.
