Driving digital transformation in healthcare: Gregor Müller takes over leadership at Thieme RECOM
With Gregor Müller, an experienced health economist and digital expert takes over the leadership of Thieme RECOM. Since November 1, 2025, Müller has been managing the Kassel-based company, which develops digital solutions and nursing classifications to support healthcare professionals in documentation, communication, and decision-making.
Müller succeeds Dr. Oliver Gapp and will continue the transformation process initiated by his predecessor. His goal is to expand the product portfolio and strengthen Thieme RECOM’s position as an innovation leader in digital nursing documentation.
After studying health economics at the University of Bayreuth, Müller began his career at Porsche Consulting, where he worked on strategy, transformation, and operational excellence projects in healthcare, pharma, and medtech. He later founded and managed several healthcare startups, including KDD Digital Healthcare GmbH, where he built a scalable SaaS platform tailored to the needs of the healthcare market.
Most recently, he served as Vice President Operations & Post-Merger Integration at Patient21 SE, overseeing the integration of medical practices into the company’s digital ecosystem. Later, as CEO of BIMsystems, he successfully transformed the firm into a SaaS platform provider for model-based information processes.
With his strong background in digital product development, strategic management, and agile, data-driven processes, Müller brings valuable expertise to Thieme RECOM. “I am very pleased that we were able to bring him on board for Thieme RECOM and personally look forward to working with him,” said Thieme Managing Director Martin Spencker.
“I look forward to working with the team to unlock existing potential and shape future-oriented solutions. Our goal is to create real value for our customers and make a lasting impact on the healthcare market,” said Müller.
For years, Thieme RECOM has been known for developing digital information and documentation processes that ensure barrier-free and cross-sector patient care. Its foundation lies in standardized classifications and evidence-based content, which are integrated into software solutions and applications.
With Gregor Müller at the helm, Thieme RECOM is focusing on continuous innovation and data-driven development to make the healthcare and nursing sectors more efficient, connected, and future-ready.
