Daiichi Sankyo Appoints Veronika Rozehnal as New Head of the Translational Research Center Europe

Daiichi Sankyo announced a significant leadership transition at its Translational Research Center Europe effective January 22, 2026. Dr. Veronika Rozehnal has been appointed Head of the European research center, succeeding Dr. Jürgen Müller, who is retiring after almost three decades of dedicated research work.

Under the leadership of Dr. Jürgen Müller, the center has evolved since its founding in 1997 from a small team of three researchers into an internationally recognized research institution with approximately 40 scientists. Today, the center plays a strategic key role within Daiichi Sankyo’s global innovation and research strategy.

Dr. Rozehnal has been part of Daiichi Sankyo since 2009 and has held various positions at the European site. In addition, she gained three years of international research experience at the company’s R&D Center in Tokyo. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Pharmacology from the University of Greifswald, Germany, and brings extensive expertise in translational and preclinical research.

Yuki Abe, Head of the R&D Division and Head of Research at Daiichi Sankyo, acknowledged Dr. Müller’s contributions and expressed confidence in the new leadership: “With her extensive experience, Veronika Rozehnal will further strengthen Daiichi Sankyo’s research presence in Europe.”

Dr. Müller also reflected proudly on his career: “I am confident that the center will continue to provide important scientific momentum that is firmly integrated into the global research strategy.”

With this leadership transition, Daiichi Sankyo sends a clear signal of continuity and further development in European scientific excellence.
