Andrea Bannert to take over as Editor-in-Chief of FOCUS Health in January 2026, succeeding Andrea Hennis

Starting January 1, 2026, Dr. Andrea Bannert will become Editor-in-Chief of FOCUS Health at BurdaVerlag (Data Publishing, BVDP). She will succeed Andrea Hennis, who will retire after two years in the role.

Bannert, who holds a PhD in microbiology, has been part of the FOCUS Health editorial team since 2018. Since 2020, she has successfully led the online editorial department, overseeing the website, podcast, newsletter, and social media channels. With her extensive experience and journalistic expertise, she is considered the ideal choice to further develop the brand.

Andrea Key, Managing Director of BVDP and FactField, paid tribute to the outgoing editor-in-chief: “I would like to thank Andrea Hennis for her work and great dedication. She has played a key role in the successful development of the magazine over the past years.”

On the upcoming collaboration with Bannert, Key added: “Since she has already continuously expanded the digital offerings, I very much look forward to the future development of FOCUS Health under her leadership.”
