Pharming announces CEO transition

Pharming has announced a leadership change at the top of the company. Fabrice Chouraqui is leaving his roles as Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director with immediate effect.

The biotechnology company said the move was agreed mutually with the Board of Directors. According to Pharming, the decision followed discussions about how to execute the company’s strategic priorities in its next phase.

Interim co-CEOs appointed

To manage the transition, the board has appointed Leverne Marsh, Chief Commercial Officer, and Kenneth Lynard, Chief Financial Officer, as interim co-CEOs. Both appointments are effective immediately.

Marsh will lead patient-focused operations, while Lynard will oversee global corporate functions. Pharming has also started a formal search process for a permanent successor.

Strategy and pipeline unchanged

The company said its strategy, development pipeline and commitment to patients remain in place. Pharming will continue to focus on executing its existing priorities and supporting the next phase of growth.

Richard Peters, Chairman of the Board of Directors, acknowledged Chouraqui’s contributions and highlighted leadership continuity as the immediate focus. Pharming and Chouraqui also stated that they will not provide further comment beyond the announcement during the transition process.

Based in Leiden, the Netherlands, Pharming focuses on rare immune and genetic diseases. The company is listed on Euronext Amsterdam and Nasdaq.
