Quanterix appoints Jim Gute as Chief Commercial Officer
Quanterix has appointed Jim Gute as Chief Commercial Officer. Based at the company’s headquarters in Billerica, Massachusetts, he will lead the company’s commercial organization.
The Nasdaq-listed biomarker company frames the appointment as part of its effort to expand in diagnostics and renew growth in its core business. Quanterix works in precision biomarker science, supporting disease research, diagnostics and drug development.
Commercial background in healthcare
According to the company, Gute brings about 20 years of senior commercial leadership experience across healthcare and IT. He most recently served at Exact Sciences as Senior Vice President and Commercial Manager, General Screening. Before that, he was General Manager, Western Region, at the same company.
Gute also spent 18 years at GE Healthcare, where he held increasingly senior roles, including president. Quanterix highlights his track record in leading commercial teams and improving performance across sales operations.
Diagnostics and biomarker testing in focus
Quanterix said Gute will support the commercial development of its broader offering, including ultra-sensitive protein detection in blood and high-plex spatial analysis in tissue. The company’s Simoa technology is used to measure biomarkers at very low concentrations in blood and other fluids.
Following the acquisition of Akoya Biosciences, Quanterix also offers spatial solutions for quantitative protein analysis in tissue at single-cell resolution. The company sees opportunities across translational research and diagnostics, with Alzheimer’s disease highlighted as a particularly important market area.
