Nia Health and AbbVie Germany collaborate on AI-supported atopic dermatitis care

Nia Health and AbbVie Germany have started a collaboration in atopic dermatitis care. Since July 2026, AbbVie has been supporting the further development of a digital care offering from Nia Health that uses AI-supported functions.

The service is intended for patients with atopic dermatitis, also known as neurodermatitis, and for the physicians treating them. Nia Health holds scientific responsibility for the offering.

Focus on a chronic skin disease

In Germany, around two percent of adults are affected by atopic dermatitis. The disease can occur in recurring flare-ups, creating a need for ongoing care and support.

The collaboration highlights the growing role of digital tools and AI-based support in healthcare pathways. For pharmaceutical companies and digital health providers, the link between patient benefit, physician use and scientific quality remains a key issue.

Defined roles in the project

AbbVie is supporting the further development of the digital care offering, while Nia Health is responsible for its scientific framework. Further details on the scope of the collaboration were not included in the available information.
