Tarsus names Neera Clase interim Chief Commercial Officer
Tarsus Pharmaceuticals is changing the leadership of its commercial organization. Aziz Mottiwala, Chief Commercial Officer, is leaving the company to become chief executive officer of a public medical device company.
Neera Clase, previously Senior Vice President of Market Access, has been appointed interim Chief Commercial Officer with immediate effect. Tarsus said it has begun a search for a permanent successor.
Transition comes as Tarsus expands
Clase joined Tarsus in 2021. According to the company, she has contributed to its move from a clinical-stage organization to a commercial biopharmaceutical business, with responsibilities tied to market access and commercial strategy.
The leadership move comes as Tarsus continues to build its eye care business. The company cited the commercialization of XDEMVY and its acquisition of iRenix Medical as factors supporting its next phase of growth and pipeline expansion.
Commercial continuity in focus
Chairman and CEO Bobby Azamian highlighted the depth of the commercial leadership team and Clase’s role in developing the company’s commercial capabilities. Mottiwala said he was confident the commercial organization would continue under Clase’s interim leadership.
Tarsus Pharmaceuticals is based in Irvine, California, and trades on Nasdaq under the ticker TARS.
