Tatjana Dreyer takes communications role at Novartis Germany

Novartis Germany has appointed Tatjana Dreyer as Head of Communications & Patient Advocacy. She took up the role on 1 July 2026 at the Swiss biopharma company’s German site in Nuremberg.

Dreyer is responsible for internal and external communications, product communications and patient advocacy. She also joins the Country Leadership Team of Novartis in Germany.

Broader communications remit

The appointment brings several key communication areas under one leadership role. Dreyer is tasked with advancing these functions strategically and creating closer links between them.

Manfred Heinzer, chairman of the management board of Novartis in Germany, points to Dreyer’s background in communications and leadership. The company expects her to support its positioning in Germany and its dialogue with healthcare partners.

Background in pharma, media and consulting

Before joining Novartis, Dreyer worked as an independent consultant for corporate communications and public affairs. The journalism graduate previously spent twelve years at Johnson & Johnson in national and international leadership roles. Her most recent position there, held until summer 2025, was Senior Director and Head of Reputation and Engagement EMEA.

Earlier roles in her career included positions at Axel Springer, Otto, E.ON and Edelman.
