STADA to acquire Orifarm consumer healthcare portfolio

STADA is expanding its European consumer healthcare business. The Bad Vilbel-based pharmaceutical company is acquiring a portfolio of 16 vitamin, mineral and supplement brands from Orifarm.

The transaction was announced on 24 June 2026. Completion remains subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.

Brands across European pharmacy markets

The portfolio includes Nycoplus in Norway, Apovit in Denmark, Magnecaps in Belgium and Vitrum in Poland. With the deal, STADA strengthens its positions particularly in the Nordic region, Belgium and Poland.

In Norway, Nycoplus comprises more than 70 supplement products or SKUs. The portfolio also includes Nycodent oral health products and Nycopro supplements for digestive health. In Denmark, Apovit covers more than 90 vitamin, mineral and supplement products and also generates sales in Finland, Estonia and Lithuania.

In Belgium, STADA adds brands including Magnecaps, Glucadol, Quatral, Mousitmug, PrunasinPhyto, Viacys and Herbesan. In Poland, the acquired assets include Vitrum, Sanostol, Multi-Sanostol and Arthron. Sanostol is also marketed in Austria, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic. STADA is also acquiring Basunguent in Austria.

Focus on local hero brands

STADA’s consumer healthcare strategy is centred on brands with strong local or regional positions. The company plans to develop the acquired portfolio across relevant channels, including online pharmacies.

CEO Peter Goldschmidt described the acquisition as an addition to STADA’s organic growth. The company plans to invest in the brands, for example through range extensions, and use synergies with its existing consumer healthcare business.

The deal follows STADA’s recent expansion in Nordic consumer healthcare through rights to the dermatology brand Locobase in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland. That range complements STADA’s local skin, scalp and care brands in the region.

Orifarm narrows strategic focus

Orifarm is divesting the vitamin, mineral and supplement portfolio to focus more closely on medicines. The company’s stated focus areas include parallel trade, niche generics, prescription medicines under special terms and over-the-counter medicines.

CEO Mads Fink Eriksen said the VMS brands are established, but no longer sit within Orifarm’s long-term strategic core. The Danish family-owned company intends to concentrate on access to affordable medicines.

A small number of current Orifarm employees are expected to join and be integrated into STADA’s international consumer healthcare team as part of the transaction.

First deal under CapVest majority ownership

The acquisition is the first announced transaction by STADA since private equity investor CapVest became the company’s new majority owner. STADA operates across consumer healthcare, generics and specialty pharmaceuticals and markets products in more than 100 countries.

For the 2025 financial year, STADA reported group sales of 4.296 billion euros and adjusted EBITDA at constant currencies of 961 million euros. At the end of 2025, the company employed 11,670 people worldwide.
