Boehringer Ingelheim Awarded “Global Top Employer” for the Sixth Consecutive Year
Boehringer Ingelheim continues to be one of the world’s most attractive employers in 2026. For the sixth consecutive year, the Top Employers Institute has certified the biopharmaceutical company as a “Global Top Employer.” The award highlights the company’s consistent commitment to creating a work environment where employee wellbeing is a top priority.
Boehringer Ingelheim achieved particularly high scores in the areas of wellbeing, career development, compensation and recognition, and work environment. The certification confirms the company’s holistic approach, combining economic success with social responsibility.
“The recognition as a ‘Global Top Employer’ confirms our ongoing commitment to creating a work environment in which our employees feel valued, can grow, and fully realize their potential,” says Christjan Knudsen, HR Director Germany. “Boehringer Ingelheim’s success is built on the dedication and diversity of our teams.”
A Holistic Approach to Wellbeing
The company-wide wellbeing program supports employees across physical, mental, social, and financial dimensions of health. It is developed and implemented by an interdisciplinary team that continuously adapts offerings to the needs of a modern, evolving workplace.
The program includes health checks, fitness and prevention initiatives, as well as tailored mental health training for employees and leaders. In addition, confidential counseling services and psychological support are available. Training on financial topics and retirement planning, along with encouragement of voluntary and community engagement, further complement the program.
Flexibility, Development, and International Opportunities
Beyond wellbeing initiatives, employees benefit from flexible working models and customized learning and development opportunities. The “Boehringer Ingelheim University” provides a global virtual campus offering access to learning resources worldwide. Employees can also temporarily work from abroad, allowing them to spend more time with family or friends living overseas.
Boehringer Ingelheim has been recognized as a top employer in numerous countries for 12 consecutive years. In 2026, the company received certifications in 31 countries, along with regional recognitions across Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, Latin America, and the Middle East. In Latin America, Boehringer Ingelheim once again ranks among the top three employers.
