DKV and Kaia Health expand cooperation: Digital app supports COPD patients with evidence-based therapy

DKV Deutsche Krankenversicherung AG and Kaia Health Software GmbH are deepening their collaboration in the field of digital health. Following the successful launch of the “Kaia Back Pain” app, the digital health application “Kaia COPD” is now being offered to all DKV-insured members suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Digital Support for Patients

The new application is a logical extension of already established digital health programs. “Our goal is to provide our customers with not only traditional treatments but also innovative digital solutions through our cooperation partners,” explains Christoph Klawunn, Member of the Board of Management at DKV.

The program includes breathing and relaxation exercises, evidence-based educational content, and physical activity modules. A particular highlight is the AI-powered movement coach, which provides real-time corrective feedback – a valuable tool, especially for severely limited COPD patients.

Modern Care with a CE-Certified App

The “Kaia COPD” app is a CE-certified medical product, meets the highest data protection standards, and adapts individually to each user. This allows patients to integrate therapy into their daily routines based on their performance level.

Shared Goal: Improving Healthcare

“With the expanded cooperation, we aim to sustainably improve healthcare in Germany through innovative approaches,” emphasizes Arabella Grandel, Head of Europe at Kaia Health. The partnership demonstrates how digital applications can both relieve the healthcare system and provide tangible benefits to patients.
