Dagmar Brandenstein takes over as Managing Director of bvitg Service GmbH on September 1, 2025

Effective September 1, 2025, Dagmar Brandenstein will take over as Managing Director of bvitg Service GmbH (BSG). The wholly owned subsidiary of the German Association of Health IT – bvitg e. V. is thus strengthening its leadership team and gaining an experienced executive for its strategic growth objectives.

Melanie Wendling will remain the Chief Executive Officer of both BSG and the association. Matthias Meierhofer, Chairman of the association, emphasized: “With Dagmar Brandenstein, we have gained an expert with long-standing leadership experience. With her strategic foresight, she will play a decisive role in further expanding BSG as the economic pillar of our association.”

Strategic Priorities

Brandenstein’s core responsibilities will include the expansion and further development of the leading trade fair DMEA as well as the DMEA brand. In addition, she will explore new business areas to strengthen BSG’s economic foundation.

More than 25 Years of Experience

Brandenstein brings over 25 years of experience in media, marketing, and corporate management. As former Managing Director of SportA (ARD/ZDF), she was responsible for international broadcasting rights for major sporting events such as FIFA World Cups, UEFA European Championships, the Bundesliga, and the Olympic Games. Her expertise also includes international license negotiations, cooperation with regulatory authorities, and the development of new sponsorship formats.

In the past ten years, she has successfully worked as an entrepreneur in the fields of marketing strategy, contract design, and business development.

Ambition and Team Spirit

As a former top-level hockey player in the German Bundesliga and a member of Mensa International, Dagmar Brandenstein embodies ambition, strategic thinking, and team orientation. She is relocating from Munich to Berlin to take on her new role.
