Takeda Strengthens Presence in Berlin: German Headquarters to Move from Konstanz by 2028
Global biopharmaceutical company Takeda has announced its plans to relocate the German headquarters of Takeda GmbH from Konstanz to Berlin by the end of 2028. With this move, the company reaffirms Germany’s strategic importance and strengthens Berlin’s role as a key location for its future operations.
Berlin already plays a vital role in managing key commercial functions for Takeda in Germany. By relocating the headquarters, Takeda will consolidate its focus on three core sites in Germany: Berlin, Oranienburg, and Singen.
“Relocating the headquarters to Berlin is a clear commitment to Germany, Takeda’s fourth largest market,” said Dr. Ingeborg R. Borgheim, Managing Director of Takeda Germany. The state-of-the-art production sites in Singen and Oranienburg will continue to serve as important pillars of Takeda’s operations.
Approximately 60 employees in Konstanz have been informed about the transition. The Konstanz site, historically the head office of Takeda Germany, is scheduled to close by the end of 2028.
“We recognize that this is a significant change for our colleagues in Konstanz,” said Michael Hartmann, Managing Director of HR and Labor Relations at Takeda Germany. “That’s why we are informing them early and transparently. We are currently in discussions with the works council.”
With 2,300 employees in Germany, two global manufacturing facilities, and its future headquarters in Berlin, Takeda is making a clear statement about Germany’s importance as an innovation and production hub in healthcare.
