Sanofi reshapes Executive Committee

Sanofi will change the composition of its Executive Committee effective September 1, 2026. The French pharmaceutical group is aligning its senior leadership around its business units, research organization and major global functions.

The move comes as Sanofi continues to execute on its current priorities and prepares for its next strategic phase. CEO Belén Garijo positioned the revised committee as a leadership group intended to support focused decision-making and execution across the company.

Committee line-up from September

From the effective date, Sanofi’s Executive Committee is set to include:

• François Roger, Executive Vice President, Finance
• Paulo Fontoura, Executive Vice President, Head of Research & Development
• Manuela Buxo, Executive Vice President, Specialty Care
• Thomas Triomphe, Executive Vice President, Vaccines
• Thomas Grenier, Executive Vice President, General Medicines
• Brendan O’Callaghan, Executive Vice President, Manufacturing & Supply
• Jamie Haney, Executive Vice President, General Counsel
• Véronique Jaillet, Executive Vice President, Chief People Officer, ad interim

Emmanuel Frenehard, Head of Digital, and Audrey Duval, Head of Corporate Affairs and President of Sanofi France, will continue to report directly to Garijo.

Finance mandate expands

Madeleine Roach, currently Head of Business Operations, will become President and Country Lead for Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Her existing responsibilities, focused on enterprise business services, will move into the Finance function.

Finance will also take on a broader remit, including Global Partnering and Business Development. Sanofi said the change is intended to support a more integrated approach to business development and mergers and acquisitions.

Additional leadership changes

Thomas Triomphe will retain responsibility for Vaccines and add oversight of China. Olivier Charmeil, currently Executive Vice President, General Medicines, will move into the role of Strategic Projects Advisor to the CEO.

Roy Papatheodorou, currently Executive Vice President and General Counsel, has decided to leave Sanofi to pursue opportunities outside the company. Jamie Haney will serve as General Counsel on the Executive Committee.
