AOP Health invites to the “Ask an Expert” patient consultation on Polycythaemia Vera on February 27, 2026
SAVE THE DATE: February 27, 2026 – On this day, patients living with the rare disease Polycythaemia Vera (PV) will once again have the opportunity to ask their individual questions directly to leading specialists in the field.
Through the event series “Ask an Expert”, AOP Health has been offering patients twice a year since 2022 a unique platform for direct exchange with experts. The goal is to provide comprehensive information about diagnosis, disease progression, and available treatment options.
Many patients lack accessible information about their condition or the time and opportunity to ask personal questions. This hybrid consultation format closes that gap, offering a trusted space where patients can speak directly with specialists.
The experts Prof. Dr. Andreas Reiter, Head of the Center of Excellence for Myeloproliferative Neoplasms at the University Medical Center Mannheim, and Prof. Dr. Martin Grießhammer, Director of the Department of Hematology, Oncology, Hemostaseology and Palliative Medicine at Johannes Wesling Klinikum Minden, will be on-site to answer questions about diagnosis, therapy options, and quality of life with PV.
Since the start of the series in 2022, more than 480 participants have attended and around 500 questions have been answered – showing the strong need for reliable patient information.
Interested participants can submit their questions anonymously in advance via www.ask-an-expert-live.de. After the event, the consultation will be available online in thematically structured video segments.
With this initiative, AOP Health once again underlines its leading role in the field of rare diseases and continues to raise awareness for Polycythaemia Vera and other myeloproliferative disorders.
