TUMFast Scholarship Program visits Hubert Burda Media: How Artificial Intelligence is Transforming the Media Industry
How is Artificial Intelligence changing the media world?
This question was at the center of the TUMFast Scholarship Program’s fireside evening at Hubert Burda Media on November 12, 2025. As a long-standing partner of the program, Burda once again provided participants with fascinating insights into the future of technology, media, and business.
Tech & Media in the Age of AI – Between Big Money and Big Challenges
Burda Executive Board Member Dr. Marc Al-Hames, himself a TUM alumnus, guided the students through an inspiring evening full of thought-provoking insights into the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence and its impact on the media industry. His key message: The age of AI sparks optimism and curiosity. AI will shake up markets but also open up countless opportunities – especially for those who remain courageous and embrace change.
Marc’s key advice for the next generation:
- Never lose your enthusiasm.
- Keep your love for people, products, and details – these values are irreplaceable.
- And most importantly: Stay optimistic.
His conclusion: “Those who have courage have incredible opportunities and can achieve great things – making it all seem like magic in the end.”
Networking & Personal Insights
Following the talk, participants had the opportunity to engage in three networking rounds with Marc Al-Hames, Christina Zehnder, and Carolin Maser.
- Carolin Maser, a former Management Trainee at Burda, shared her personal experiences and career journey.
- Christina Zehnder, Recruiting Consultant at Burda, offered valuable tips for a successful career start.
Snacks and drinks created a relaxed and inspiring atmosphere for open conversation and new connections.
