Convatec CFO Fiona Ryder to step down, Tobias Hestler joins board

Convatec is preparing a change in its finance leadership. Chief Financial Officer Fiona Ryder will leave the role once a successor has been appointed. Until then, she will continue as CFO and a director and support the handover.

The board plans to run a full recruitment process for the next CFO. The company said the appointment will be aligned with delivery of its Accelerate strategy.

Ryder to remain during transition

Ryder joined Convatec in January 2022. According to the company, she played an important role in reshaping the finance function. Her work included the company’s first investment-grade bond, valued at 500 million US dollars, and its first share buyback programme.

Convatec also pointed to her contribution to Convatec Business Services, improvements in the control environment and the company’s simplification and productivity work. General and administrative expenses fell from 13 percent of sales to below 7 percent during the period cited by the company.

2026 outlook unchanged

Alongside the management update, Convatec said it expects results for the six months to 30 June 2026 to be in line with expectations. For 2026, the company continues to forecast double-digit growth in adjusted earnings per share.

The outlook is based on organic revenue growth of 5 to 7 percent and an adjusted operating margin of at least 23 percent. Convatec plans to publish its half-year results on 4 August 2026.

Tobias Hestler appointed Non-Executive Director

Convatec has also appointed Tobias Hestler as a Non-Executive Director with immediate effect. He has joined the Audit and Risk Committee and is expected to become its chair after a transition period. Margaret Ewing will step down from that committee chair role.

Hestler brings senior finance, capital markets, public company and healthcare experience. He was Group CFO and an executive director at Haleon from its 2022 listing as a FTSE 100 company until 2024. Before that, he was CFO designate of Haleon and CFO of GSK’s Consumer Healthcare joint ventures.

He is currently a Non-Executive Director and Audit Committee Chair at Alliance Pharma. He also serves as Treasurer and Trustee of the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
