Christian Mias to succeed Andreas Reisse as SCHOTT Pharma CEO

SCHOTT Pharma has announced a planned leadership transition. The Supervisory Board of SCHOTT Pharma Management AG has appointed Christian Mias as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He is set to take over on 1 May 2026, succeeding Andreas Reisse, who will retire as scheduled at the end of April 2026.

To ensure continuity, Reisse is expected to support the handover in the coming months. Reinhard Mayer will remain Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Internal successor with international management background

Christian Mias, born in 1974, currently serves as Executive Vice President of SCHOTT’s Electronic Packaging business unit. Holding a doctorate in industrial engineering and management, he brings more than 20 years of leadership experience, including over 18 years within the SCHOTT Group. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Commercial Project Manager at Siemens.

Mias has also gained exposure to the pharmaceutical value chain through SCHOTT Tubing, which supplies intermediate products to pharma customers, including SCHOTT Pharma. Within the SCHOTT Group, he has held leadership roles across multiple business areas and regions, including Managing Director in Brazil and Chief Operating Officer in the US. He has been Vice President since 2016 and Executive Vice President since 2018, and currently leads the Electronic Packaging unit.

Reisse to retire after decades with the company

Andreas Reisse has been with the SCHOTT Group since 1987. From 2010, he led the “Pharmaceutical Systems” business, which has been listed as SCHOTT Pharma AG & Co. KGaA on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since 2023. Reisse will step down upon reaching the statutory age limit for Management Board members.

Supervisory Board Chair Peter Goldschmidt highlighted Reisse’s role in SCHOTT Pharma’s growth and development, including the IPO. Mias said he intends to build on SCHOTT Pharma’s position in pharmaceutical packaging and delivery systems.
