gesund.de Launches First AI Phone Assistant for Pharmacies – Less Stress for Teams, Better Service for Patients
gesund.de launches KIRA – the first AI-powered phone assistant for local pharmacies in Germany – and it’s already making a difference in everyday pharmacy life.
With its new service gesund.de KIRA, gesund.de is transforming how pharmacies handle incoming phone calls. The AI-powered voice solution handles standard questions regarding opening hours, medication availability, or pre-orders – securely, GDPR-compliant, and made in Germany. More complex inquiries are seamlessly forwarded to the pharmacy team.
The launch follows in-depth market research: Through workshops and interviews with over 200 pharmacies, a clear need emerged – on average, pharmacies receive 44 calls per day, most of them standard inquiries. KIRA taps directly into the pharmacy’s inventory system and integrates smoothly via existing gesund.de interfaces.
Another standout feature: The AI understands regional dialects and will soon be available in multiple foreign languages, including English and Turkish – a plus for multilingual patient support.
The benefits are felt immediately: KIRA reduces workflow interruptions, ensures no call is missed – even outside of business hours – and gives pharmacy teams valuable time for what matters most: expert, personal consultations.
“AI isn’t a future topic – it’s already here,” says Dr. Peter Schreiner, CEO of gesund.de. “KIRA gives pharmacy teams back the time they need to focus on core pharmaceutical tasks and human connection.”
The solution is fully flexible – pharmacies can use KIRA for all incoming calls, only outside business hours, or as needed during busy times. gesund.de also supports teams with patient communication, offering clear informational materials, social media content, and print flyers.
KIRA has been live since July 15, 2025, and is already used by a growing number of pharmacies. Early feedback is promising:
“AI telephony improves our availability – especially during staff shortages and night shifts,” says Claudia Meyer, owner of Vitalis Pharmacy in Troisdorf.
“Standard requests are handled automatically – this significantly reduces our workload,” add Ira and Sebastian Fischer-Schüberl, owners of Phoenix Pharmacy in Hungen.
With KIRA, gesund.de sets a new standard in digital pharmacy support – merging smart technology with personal care.
