15 Years in a Row as a Top Employer: Chiesi GmbH Celebrates HR Excellence and a Strong Corporate Culture

For the 15th year in a row, Chiesi GmbH has received the prestigious Top Employer certification. This milestone anniversary is special not only for the company, but also for Gregor Scheminski, HR Manager at Chiesi GmbH, who has been involved from the very beginning and has actively shaped this journey.

What does the “Top Employer” award stand for?

The Top Employer certification represents a clear commitment to a modern, appreciative, and future-oriented workplace. The focus is not on short-term perks, but on sustainable development, genuine appreciation, and collaboration on equal footing.

The certification is based on a comprehensive evaluation conducted by the Top Employers Institute. Six core HR dimensions covering a total of 20 topic areas are assessed, including HR strategy, work environment, digital HR, talent acquisition, learning & development, diversity, equity, inclusion, and well-being.

“Our goal is to create an environment where everyone enjoys coming to work and can grow over the long term,” explains Scheminski. Receiving this certification year after year confirms that we are on the right path and motivates us to continuously develop our HR strategy further.

15 years of certification – how has the process changed?

Over the past 15 years, the certification process has evolved significantly. What was once relatively manageable has become far more data-driven, detailed, and demanding.

“The first time, the joy was immense – today it has almost become a tradition,” says Scheminski. However, with each year, our own expectations continue to rise: standing still is not an option. The award is therefore less about self-validation and more about continuous improvement.

What makes Chiesi a special Top Employer?

Today, there are around 200 Top Employer–certified companies in Germany. According to Scheminski, what truly sets Chiesi apart is its strong sense of community. Diversity, openness, and mutual respect are deeply embedded in everyday working life – not just as guiding principles, but as lived values.

At Chiesi, every individual counts. New ideas are encouraged, and collaboration is actively promoted. Perhaps this is why many employees describe Chiesi not just as an employer, but as a true “happy place.” Insights into the company’s social commitment can be found here: LINK
